Well, there is a good deal to talk about... Where to start? Pictures at the bottom.
February 11, 2008 was our 3year anniversary! Yay for us! We had fun. I took the day off of work and we had a leisurely morning. We cleaned the house a little, saw a movie and had lunch. We stopped by Walmart for a few things and I got Ben a heart shaped carton of Skittles. Then we went shopping at Marshall's and DSW shoe store. We then hurried over to our reservation at Ruth's Chris Steak House ( highly recommended for any occasion - if you have some extra money)! That was scrumptious!!! Yummy. I get full just thinking about it! It has become our tradition. Every year we have gone there on our anniversary and we have always gotten the creme bru le and bread pudding for dessert! Then came Valentine's Day which I became sick just 2 days before. But I was well enough to see a movie that day after work. We came home and I laid down on the couch where I promptly fell asleep until 7pm when I took my temperature and it was 103.6. I drank a bottle of water took two extra strength Tylenol and went to bed. I went to the doctor the next morning and found out it was the flu. Work has been crazy the past two weeks. We normally get about 100 boxes of product each week. Last week we got 220 and this week on Tuesday we got 294 boxes. Needless to say we were a little shaken up by that. But it is Saturday now and they have all been done since yesterday. In the middle of all of the boxes we had to change the placement of some of our actual fixtures. We had to move about four huge tables and eight hanging fixtures, which required a lot of cleaning on our part not to mention transferring all the product back to the correct places! Yikes, that really threw off our plan for all the boxes. But now we have more room up front for all our full price merchandise! I had this weekend off! Hurray! So I am waiting to hear how many boxes we will get this coming week. Cross your fingers with me that it isn't over 200! Well, the house it coming along again! Ben has been able to do a lot of work on it the past few weeks. He has been outside on a ladder all day every day painting the soffet and fascia (oops if I didn't spell those right) boards. Next comes the rest of the house, which we just bought the rest of the paint for! I am so excited for the day when I come home to a fully painted house! We have replaced seven windows in the front of the house by the front door - which is newly installed! We have put in some new flooring! We have painted one of the garage doors which looks fantastic! We put up and painted a fence and trellis. Ben has put up this cool stone around our fireplace and up the wall to the ceiling! Now he wants to choose a new shade of paint for the living room to accent the stone more. We bought some curtains and a curtain rod to put up in the living room so the neighbors can't see in all day and all night! Ben also poured some concrete and put in a light that looks like an old lamp post so our walkway up to the front door is not so dark! There are countless things which have been done and yet countless more that still need to be done! Oh well, I guess that is what being a home owner is all about. Some day it will be done, and then we will do it again on another house. Hopefully not too soon after!
I am having fun being the primary secretary for our ward, and Ben is the Deacon's quorum assistant advisor. He has been teaching lessons every other week. He came home from a leadership meeting this morning and was asking me about my most memorable combined activities from my mutual days. He has taken the responsibility of putting together the next combined activity. We'll keep you posted!
We miss you all and can't wait until the time when we can see you all again! Texas is beautiful right now! Summer will be hot, but fun! Feel free to come and visit us anytime of year!
Our gate and trellis designed and put together by Ben!
In the middle of replacing our old windows and siding. You can see the old color of the fascia and the old door! It is now a beautiful walnut stained wood door.
This picture is before the new lamp post is up. If you can see the color of the chimeny that is the color the whole house will be. You can see the old fascia in this picture too!

wow, I'm so inspired to hear about all you guys do to your house- it amazes me. I keep thinking I want to make the outside of our house cuter, among hundreds of other things, but I just look at and think, how? I want to see a front view picture of your house!
anyways, glad you guys had a great creme brulee eating anniversary too!
Happy belated Anniversary! I'm sorry you were so sick, but I'm glad you are feeling better. It sounds like you've really done a lot to your house. I'm with Trine; I, too, would like to see a front view of the whole house. From what I can see it looks nice. So are you actually painting the brick then? It looks like a pretty brick. How big is your house? Hey, if you are ever in the Amarillo area, let me know and we'll hook up. Like if you're driving through TX and need a stop, you'd be welcome to stay here. We're near Amarillo, relatively speaking. Anyway, good to hear from you again on here. I was wondering if you were still alive. :-) Tami
No, we are not painting the brick, just the siding and trim. I will get up some more pictures soon of the house and other various projects!
Well HELLO! It was so good to hear from you guys! It looks like life is going great for you in Texas! I can't wait to see more pictures of your house! It sounds like Ben is quite the handy man! That's always good! I didn't know you two got married! I'm so happy for you! Well, you guys are so cute! I'm going to add you to my blog so I can stay updated on you guys! Congratulations on everything!
