August–10 months

Only two more till he’s a year?! Crap. What am I doing wrong? Why is my baby growing up? I beg him every day not too. I guess that’s how it goes.

You’re now an expert at crawling with your hands & knees. You are also an expert on pulling yourself up on anything and EVERY thing. But your are also an expert on sitting yourself back down. You do this a lot every day, but you especially like to get up and down, and up and down in the bath. Which used to freak mommy out, but now it’s old hat. I don’t even think twice. I know you’re strong enough and you are quick enough to sit back up if you do fall. Which you haven’t fallen since the second time you did it.

In the beginning of this month you and I went to visit my sister in Utah. We stayed for a week and got to be part of the baby blessing for Emily Jo, and the baptism for Scottie. A lot of these first pictures are from our trip.

First time eating (baby) spaghetti with tomato sauce and (ground) meat. I wonder if you liked it… That’s an overwhelming YES! Sleeping in the pack ‘n play at aunt Stef’s house. You did ok, but there was a lot more noise there than you are used to. And you slept in the same room as mommy, so you reverted to waking up a couple times again. We’re back to normal now though.

  This is some of the awesome bed head I was talking about in the previous post! He found air vent on the floor. I don’t know if you can see it. I never got a great picture of it, but he was putting his head down right on it and his hair would go flying! It was so so cute! “What?” Too cute. I took a bunch of pictures of him while we were sitting there, and this is (believe it or not) one of the better ones! ha ha He’s so cute. I can’t get enough. Eating noodles for the first time. He liked it… Until mommy gave him one with cheese on it. Then that’s all he wanted. ha ha Oops. Guess that teaches me to not give him the good stuff till he’s eaten his stuff first.             Another nap picture. Funny enough, Ben’s parents were actually in Utah the same time as us. So they came by and took us to dinner one night. It was fun to see them. We haven’t seen them since the blessing in March. He’s a lot bigger now. Dylan’s cousin Seth trying to help out. He’s two or three and so cute, and so busy… Can’t wait for that.

This picture was NOT staged! I jumped in the shower one day and he started to cry. So one of the boys came in and gave him this panda. When I came back down he was like this. I covered him with his towel because the a/c was on and he was 1/2 on his blanket.

Back home again. Happy to eat his snack in his own little high chair. Funny story! I was getting my laundry and stuff ready to go downstairs to do it. I walked away to put on my shoes and I hear a crash. I came back out to make sure everything was fine, even though I didn’t hear any crying. When I came out this is what I saw. He had pulled himself up on the basket, which wasn’t heavy enough to hold him and it tipped over and dumped out on him. So I grabbed the camera to capture this funny picture of him covered in our whites and eating them! He likes to chew on my undershirts when he nurses, so that is like a happy moment for him! ha ha Beach time with dada! Loves that water! I wish you could see his face and hear his little squeals! Got totally soaked on that wave, but he loved it any way! At our ward party one night. Ben’s first time on the swings with him (I think). Dylan didn’t want to let go of the chain when dada was done! Ben found this cute floppy hat for Dylan while on a shopping spree one day. He actually keeps it on now too, even though there is no chin strap. Doggies! Funny little guy likes to say good morning to the doggies after we get up and before we take them out on a walk. He likes to grab Tobey’s collar. He knows I’m watching him. So funny.
