Time...

I don't know where the time goes, but it sure does fly. Even when you aren't having fun.
So, I'm back from Houston. That was an ok trip, aside from working anywhere from 12-17 hour days...that was the crappy part. Oh well, it is over, and now I have it under my belt for next time. I really did enjoy it, I just wish it had been a little more ready for us to open. The contractors weren't done yet, the computer guys weren't done yet, etc.
I got back to my store and we had inventory on the 6th and 7th. It actually went really smoothly. I was very impressed! Then on the 8th I had inventory at my little underwear store, and that was pretty much a breeze.
Then I had to deal with the situation from my big store. We had the fitting rooms being re-wall papered and carpeted while I was gone. Our corporate office won't allow workers during business hours so they had to do overnights. So I had to have some one there two nights from 9pm-3am. That is horrible, but on top of all that they didn't even do them right. There were bubbles in the walls, they didn't put up the bars for the hangers, etc. So far they have had 4 days (and 23 hours in those days total) to complete 7 fitting rooms. It shouldn't have taken so long, and they still aren't done! They have done a horrific job. I need to take pictures to send to my boss, so I will post some.
We have this joke about whenever I leave the store for a few days something goes wrong, and that happened this time. Not only were my fitting rooms messed up, but one of the managers I just hired quit on Friday without giving any notice and wouldn't cover his shifts for the weekend even though he knew we had inventory going on. I guess some of you don't understand what a big deal inventory is...It happens twice a year for us. We go thru and count and scan every individual item in the store, back room and sales floor, to give us an accurate number of how much we have had stolen. That number is sometimes referred to as Shrink. Once that is done we wait a month or two for our shrink percentage.
I finally went to the doctor for my skin. I have been having the most awful irritated skin on my feet and ankles since February, but I never did anything about it. So I went in and got some ointment to put on. It seems to be helping a little already.
That's probably too much info to be updating you all on, but hey...what else are friends for? ha ha I don't really have anything else to update you about. We just got back from a walk with our babies around the neighborhood (3 miles), and they are beat!
Here are two pictures of Ben and his grandparents (on his dad's side). They just came down to Texas to visit the Alamo and such and we were able to meet up with them for dinner at the County Line. Yum. I don't know why I'm not in them, but that's ok. You can also tell in the picture that Ben's shirt is way baggy. That shirt in February would have been tight. I'm so proud of him for losing 35 pounds in 2.5 months! He is awesome! Thanks for the support and encouragement to get into shape myself. I love you!
