Things happen so quickly...

The title to this post really isn't sufficient or explanatory enough so I'm sorry but you may have to read the whole thing - and it may get long...maybe! Here we go...

Ben and I are good. He has been working on our house a lot lately. Finishing some siding and things on the outside so we can paint it! That is the day I am really excited for: the day I can come home and see a cute house when I go into the driveway. Don't get me wrong, I love my house! I think it is really cute, but on the outside it is a little lacking right now. We still have 8 windows to replace, but we have to special order them because of their size and shape. So all is going well. We bought some sheet rock and 2x4's today so we can replace the peices we ripped down while looking for uninvited visitors. Then we ripped out the tiniest closet in the house (in the master suite) which created a little more to replace in the ceiling. I get to be the helper for this job. I am excited, but I don't know if Ben will be excited during the job when I start asking all my questions about what is happening.

My job is what really inspired this post. I have been a store manager now for almost a year (in September) and am getting a little stressed since we haven't gone on vacation in a whole year! But I have some good news...I am being considered for a promotion! I know you're thinking I get to become some corporate big-wig who makes a ridiculous amount of money for sitting on her butt and forgets what retail is all about and so on and so on, but that isn't what I am talking about. Darn! That would be nice! What I am being considered for is called a Training Store Manager. I would still be the store manager of my store, but I would also be in charge of all the management candidates training in all of Texas. It is a lot of responsibility and I have heard a good amount of work. It is all really exciting. I am not putting all my eggs into one basket though, so if it doesn't happen I will be trying to remember all the things I wouldn't want to do.

While I am flattered by this possibility and all the talk of I am also intrigued by this possible decision. Why would they want someone so new (and so young -comparatively) to be in such an important position?! I am not looking for anyone to tell me what they think of me and my job, but I am thinking logically and "out loud." I am looking at the people around me and their experience and all. I think it is a big compliment to me and to all of my bosses/mentors/friends/coworkers that they could even consider me for this so soon after I was put into my current position. It is probably going to be available in October. So I'll keep you all posted on that one.

Still now news on my calling situation. I am callingless. Ben just got a new calling. He WAS the Assistant Scout Master AND the assistant deacon's quorum advisor. He is now the Venture Crew Leader which is the Teachers' and Priests' scouting leader. So that will be exciting I'm sure. As for now I try to help out in Relief Society by volunteering to do things. Don't get any ideas, my intentions aren't all pure and selfless. I am volunteering to hold the baby of one of the presidency members while she sits up front which is a very selfish way to "help." I love babies though. I always have ever since I can remember. My mother says I used to ask her to have another baby as soon as I could talk. I am the youngest of 6 and was somewhat of a surprise at that, so it didn't ever happen. I love to be near children because I can feel how pure and innocent they are and that makes me feel so peaceful. Wow, that was quite a little rant. Sorry if I lost any of you!

Our "babies" are good. They just got haircuts! Ben thinks they are super cute when we shave them, so now my cute baby girl looks just like Tobey! Oh well, she's still cute and I am trying to convince Ben that I need to buy her some clothes now so everyone will know she's a girl! Pathetic, I know...what can I say?!

Just a picture for visual interest. Ben and Tobey were sleeping like this one night when I came home late from work and they were already sleeping. I thought it was really cute so I told Tobey he had to stay there so I could take a picture!
I hope all is well with you! If you need anything let me know and I will do my best to help out!

Hey beautiful!!! Thanks for tracking me down via Cristin! If you don't mind I'll pop in now and again. Looks like things are going well for you, home repairs must be crazy. We have to get rid of termites before we can paint the nursery. Ugh. Well take care, I'll be seeing you in blog land!
